This is the image for the news article titled Dual Enrollment Options for 2024-25Students in 11th and 12th grade have several opportunities to take dual enrollment classes for college and high school credit.  Students may take up to 30 credit hours for free while in high school.  Catoosa County Schools partners with Dalton State University and Georgia Northwestern Technical College to offer dual enrollment courses in a variety of ways.




Getting Started:
  • Students must meet the admission requirements to GNTC or Dalton State.
  • HHS counselors or Mrs. Hunt at the Catoosa Career Academy will assist students in applying to colleges for dual enrollment admission.
  • March 14 & 20 are Dual Enrollment application days at HHS.
  • The deadline to apply to GNTC for Fall 2024 is May 1st.  The deadline to apply to Dalton State for Fall 2024 is July 1st.

Program Options:
  • Take classes at HHS - Mrs. Zipp (US HIST 2111/2112) AND Mrs. Cosby (ENG 1101/2130 and ENG 1102) are adjunct professors at GNTC and offer dual enrollment courses on HHS campus.  Mrs. Spradlin (College Algebra) is an adjunct professor at Dalton State and offers dual enrollment at HHS.
  • Take classes at the College & Career Academy  CCA offers a college Biology course on campus through Dalton State.  Most of the career classes at CCA are dual enrollment classes, earning students credit through GNTC toward a degree or professional certificate.
  • Take classes at the colleges
  • Take classes online through the colleges
Decision Making:
  • Your teachers and school counselor can help you decide between Advanced Placement and dual enrollment classes.  
  • College classes taken off campus or online follow the college school calendar.
