Emily Lin has been named Heritage High School's first National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist! Students qualify for this recognition based on their PSAT score during their junior year. On September 13th, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of more than 16,000 semifinalists in the program (selected out of 1.3 million students who took the PSAT their junior year). These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered in the spring.
