Carson McCullers Literary Awards sponsored by Columbus State University.

Q: Who is eligible to enter?
A: Any student at HHS!
Q: What is the deadline for entry?
A: March 5
Q: What type of writing can be entered?
A: Fiction, Poetry, Creative Nonfiction, Expository Essay, Playwriting, and Screenwriting
Q: What are the guidelines for contest entries?
A: There are NO requirements for format and no restrictions on word count.
Q: How many pieces of writing can a student submit?
A: Students can submit works in multiple categories, but only one work can be submitted per category. For example, you could submit 1 poem, 1 short story, and 1 play, but you cannot submit 2 poems, etc.
Q: Are there awards for winners?
A: YES! Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in EACH category! There is also a ceremony held at Columbus State to honor recipients of the Carson McCullers Literary Awards.
Q: How do I show proof of entry in order to earn a point toward an HHS academic letter?
A: Send a screenshot showing proof of entry (work submitted) to your English teacher or to Mrs. Cosby at [email protected]
