We are excited to post the new Summer Reading lists for Honors and AP English. A guided summer reading program gives students a chance to build a much needed reading repertoire that will serve them in many ways throughout high school and into college. Learning to read and analyze a book independently is important to college success. Those who are planning to take AP Literature or Language will find that guided summer assignments provide the reading and writing edge students need to be successful on AP exams. Moreover, a summer reading program keeps students intellectually engaged so there is less of a learning lull before a new school year begins. To take full advantage of summer reading, students should join the Google Classroom assigned to their grade/class, choose books that appeal to them, and read thoughtfully and thoroughly in order to be successful in summer testing and during class discussions. Taking notes on the books will help students remember information for the tests. Lists, assignments, test dates, and due dates will be posted in Google Classroom. Please ask your teacher if you need further information or would like advice about a book to read.

Happy Reading
