There are several writing competitions for high school students with upcoming deadlines. You can earn points toward a Heritage Academic Letter for each entry and have the opportunity to win cash prizes and scholarships.
Scholastic Art and Writing Awards:
$10 to enter (can be waived); several writing and art categories; regional and national awards/recognition; scholarships, cash awards.
For academic letter credit: send a screenshot of your entry to your English teacher.
Use your personal email address to access and upload.
Deadline for entry is December 19, 2022
Young Georgia Authors Writing Competition:
free to enter; several writing categories; district, regional and state level awards; win cash, have your work published, win medals and trophies, senior scholarship. No screen shot required for academic letter credit.

Carson McCullers Literary Awards:
