2020-21 Heritage High School Honors English Summer Reading List 

For Students Entering 9th-12th grades


Choose ONE selection from the class list to read carefully.
A writing assignment is posted in Summer Reading Google classroom for your grade. Follow directions and submit the assignment in Google Classroom (codes are listed below). Handwritten assignments NOT accepted. 

ATTENTION MOWR STUDENTS (dual enrollment). Summer reading is still required in the event that you drop a dual enrollment class and join an Honors/AP class. You will not be exempt from the reading and testing requirements. You are expected to meet the deadlines for testing and assignment submissions. Failing to do so will result in a grade of zero for the assignment.

PART 1:ALL STUDENTS READ:  Hamlet by William Shakespeare 

Be prepared to study this in class. This is not an easy play, so I would like you to read the parallel text over the summer.  I will have a plot based assignment for you to complete before school begins.  At the start of school, we will read the original in class.  My hope is that understanding the plot first will help you understand the play better.

PART 2: READ ONE  OF THE FOLLOWING
