The Heritage High School Wind Ensemble has been selected as a recipient of the "Exemplary Performance Award" in the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) band division.  The award will be presented to the band during their Fall 2018 Concert.  The wind ensemble has previously received this award in 2012 and 2015.  You may only receive it every three years.  The Heritage Wind Ensemble becomes the first high school group in Georgia to receive this award three times.  The GMEA "Exemplary Performance Award" is presented to middle and high school performing ensembles that achieve outstanding results in all areas of performance sponsored by GMEA.  These areas include Large Group Performance Evaluation, Solo and Ensemble Performance Evaluation, All State and the District Honor events.  It is the intent of the "Exemplary Performance Award" to serve as the most prestigious award recognized by GMEA.
"Building an excellent music program is a process requiring extra time, much talent, and tremendous dedication to the music education profession.  You are to be commended for this outstanding achievement."
Frank Folds, GMEA Chairman
