Dear Heritage Parents and Guardians,

The safety of our students and staff at Heritage High is our highest priority.  Catoosa County Schools has also made safety a priority and is implementing several school safety systems through ESPLOST funding.  A recent project is a front door management system at Heritage High School.  This system is active and in use beginning Tuesday, February 27th.  To keep your child safe, this system will help our staff make sure that only authorized individuals can enter our school.

A Secure and Safe Building:

With this enhancement in safety, we need your help as we put new protocols in place.  All exterior doors at Heritage High School will be locked during the school day.  For any visitor to gain access to the building, the buzzer system located at the front door of the school must be used.  Also, students will not be allowed to leave the building to receive food or personal belongings from parents or guardians in the parking lot or the front of the school.  Parents or guardians must follow check in procedures and bring all items to the main office.

·         Office staff will greet visitors through the intercom system and will ask the visitor to provide information regarding his/her visit.  At this time, all unknown visitors will be asked to provide a government issued photo I.D.  Office staff will determine if entry to the school will be granted.

·         Once inside the building, please proceed to the office to sign in.

·         Visitors will be required to wear a visitor sticker provided by the office during the visit.

I understand that it will take a moment at the door while our staff verifies your identity; however, I’m sure you agree that it is worth the time to know that only authorized individuals are walking the halls of HHS. Thank you for your cooperation as we make this transition to improve the safety and security for our students and staff.

If you have any questions or concerns about safety, please do not hesitate in contacting me.
